“ Located at the Roof Garden of the Ayala Mall Feliz, Bistro Charlemagne is accessible, sure, but can be discouraging to get to since you're sort of leaving the air-conditioned sanctuary of the mall and walking a few meters under the scorching and unforgiving sun just to get lunch. An expensive lunch at that. The Thai eggplant dish is not worth the trek. It needs more "Thai-ness" (i.e., spice, sourness, sweetness) to make it actually taste Thai. The ox sisig, on the other hand, was amazing - a definite must-buy. It uses lengua and ox tripe, ingredients that would be cheaper than other meat cuts, but more "exotic" to the homemaker's version of sisig. At the hands of Charlemagne's chef at its Feliz branch, this was a winner winner, oxie dinner for lunch. The much-hyped Cantonese pancit was good. The serving style Instagram worthy. It tastes all right, although I would like it to be more saucy as the crispy noodles is a bit difficult to break down and the existing sauce is seeped up pretty dang quickly by the dry noodles. The salted fish fried rice is another must-try, in my opinion. The bandehado it was served in could easily feed 6 pax. Charlemagne adds a 10% SC to the total bill, making our meal go from 1800+ to a little over 2k, for 3 pax. Not the cheapest place in town, but the food presentation, the ox sisig, and the salted fish fried rice are indeed unforgettable. ”

Everything tasted so good! The rice even tasted like the yakimeshi rice from the old yakimeshi house restaurant. A must try if you're in Ayala Feliz ”

The iced tea and soup that came with the meal was also OK. We ordered Crepe Samurai for dessert and we enjoyed it. Staff: Attentive. Clean/Neat look. Ambiance: OK. “ We dined at this restaurant to celebrate my mom’s birthday in advance. One of the main reasons we chose this place was its accessibility, as my mom has arthritis and can’t walk properly. We ordered Sichuan Chicken, Gourmet Pork Sisig, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Flying Noodles, and Beef Tenderloin Rolls with Cheese. Unfortunately, while the food was on the expensive side, the taste didn’t quite justify the prices. • The Pork Sisig was just average, and the serving size was quite small. • The Sichuan Chicken tasted good but didn’t stand out. • The Beef Tenderloin Rolls with Cheese were disappointing. As their bestseller, we expected more, but it was way too salty for our liking. The beef portion was small, and the overwhelming amount of cheese made it even saltier. Definitely not our cup of tea. • The Flying Noodles were good, and we enjoyed the savory taste. • The Yang Chow Fried Rice was the only dish we truly loved. The serving was generous, and the flavors were rich and well-balanced. Overall, while we were glad to have tried this place, we won’t be coming back. The food didn’t quite meet our expectations, especially for the price. ”
